Plani-altimetric Restitution

The production of original maps or topographic maps (planimetric, altimetric or planialtimétricas) based on aerial photographs taken with cameras metrics is called plani-altimetric restitution. This process transforms the conical projection of each photograph in a unique orthogonal projection in a planar base where the planimetric and altimetric details of interest are plotted to the map. This transformation to a planar planar projection is made for the overlap area of two sequential photographs, called stereo model. The restitution is executed for each stereo models, one at a time, until the whole area is completed.

The mapping scale is limited by the flight scale of the, usually expands 4 times, so for a flight 1:8,000 can be achieved a mapping scale of 1:2,000.
